Master Critical Care Echocardiography

Our courses are intended for healthcare professionals caring for critically ill patients, or those at risk of haemodynamic instability. Courses are specifically designed for clinicians working in critical care, anaesthesiology, emergency medicine, and cardiology.

No prior echocardiography experience is required for foundational courses. Basic experience (completion of approximately 20 scans) is recommended for participation in advanced courses.

• Endorsed by the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) and the Intensive Care Society (ICS).
  

• Approved for Accreditation Points by the British Society of Echocardiography.
  

• Approved for CPD/CME Points by the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland.
  

Hybrid courses combine online pre-course ‘homework’ with in-person course days.

Online courses are delivered fully remotely with structured modules and self-paced learning.

Participants have access to all online course materials for six months from the date of enrolment.

Hybrid course pre-course ‘homework’ can be accessed from the time of course registration to one week after completion of the in-person course.

Completion provides certification of attendance and CPD points. For formal BSE Level 1 or FUSIC accreditation, participants must complete a logbook and pass the associated assessments. Faculty can advise on who may be able to assist with this process.

A laptop or tablet with internet access is required. All course materials are provided within the online course learning platform.

Yes. Hybrid courses have limited places to maintain a low learner-to-instructor and learner-to-model ratio and ensure optimal practical training.

Refunds are available up to four weeks prior to the in-person course start date.

Refunds requested within four weeks may be considered only if a replacement participant is secured.

As course places are limited and typically fill fully, late cancellations may prevent other candidates from attending.

Participants may request a full refund within 14 days of registration, provided they have not accessed or completed more than 5% of the course content.

Accessing course modules, or completing assessments constitutes commencement of service and waives the right to withdraw under the EU Consumer Rights Directive.

Refund requests must be submitted via email to the Echo Academy team.

Echo Academy is preparing to launch a structured supervision pathway for FUSIC Heart and BSE Level 1 accreditation. Participants will be able to register online and receive direct faculty mentorship, scan reviews, and support through to final sign-off.

An announcement will be made once applications open. Expressions of interest can be submitted in advance.
